Entrepreneurship-Focused Italian University adds its Doctoral works to the ProQuest Dissertations and Theses Global database

Cambridge, UK-- November 18, 2021. Business and economics-focused LIUC-Università Carlo Cattaneo will become the first Italian university to formally include its graduate research in ProQuest Dissertations & Theses Global (PQDT), the largest curated database of dissertations and theses in the world.

LIUC-Università Carlo Cattaneo is an Italian university with a unique focus on entrepreneurship. Its business and economics research recognizes the central role of the entrepreneur in the economic process and prepares students for the demands of the business world. Including both current and future dissertations and theses into PQDT will elevate the university's work to the global economics conversation.

"Including our PhD graduate works in the ProQuest Dissertations & Theses Global collection will help support our early-career academics and raise their global profile along with that of the university. It will open up potential collaboration opportunities with other institutions, academics and organizations globally," said Valentina Lazzarotti, Director of the PhD Program at LIUC-Università Carlo Cattaneo.

"We welcome this chance to make our research products more visible and discoverable," said Laura Ballestra, Deputy Chief Librarian of Biblioteca Mario Rostoni at LIUC-Università Carlo Cattaneo.

"For more than two decades, PQDT has been amplifying the reach and impact of institutions' research worldwide," said Angela D'Agostino, Vice President of Product Management at ProQuest. "We are honored to welcome LIUC, our first Italian contributor, to this community of more than 4,000 prestigious research institutions. We look forward to supporting their mission of cultivating the economists and business and finance leaders of tomorrow."

Doctoral works from LIUC are now accessible by PQDT users globally and will be broadly discoverable via citations in major subject indexes and Google Scholar, giving the university's authors greater visibility and recognition for their research output. More than 4 million researchers at 3,100 universities will have access to content authored by PhD graduates of this institution based in Castellanza near Milan, in the Lombardy region of Northern Italy.

The university can also track, monitor and see trends in usage with ProQuest‘s new, free-to-use ETD Dashboard tool. LIUC also recently completed the successful implementation of the Ex Libris Esploro research services solution.

The fast and seamless discovery of more than 5 million works in PQDT – 2.8 million in full text – improves access to this important content. Cross-searching with other scholarly material on the ProQuest platform simplifies research workflows even further, saving time for users and broadening the scope of their searches. The full spectrum of content in PQDT is also available in the ProQuest One Academic database.
