Atlanta, GA -- April 8, 2024. Equinox Open Library Initiative, a trusted leader in open source technology development and support for libraries, is pleased to welcome the Evergreen Indiana Library Consortium (Evergreen Indiana) to the Aspen Discovery community. Equinox is providing Aspen Discovery services for the consortium.
"The Evergreen Indiana Library Consortium is proud to work with Equinox to deploy Aspen Discovery for each of its member libraries," said Ruth Frasur Davis, Coordinator at Evergreen Indiana Library Consortium. "Our libraries are now able to customize the search and discovery experience for their patrons in a way that highlights local collections and services while also leveraging the power of the shared Evergreen Indiana catalog and other consortium benefits. The member libraries serve unique communities. We are excited about the possibilities that Aspen Discovery provides for libraries to meet the needs of their communities."
Evergreen Indiana is a growing consortium of public and school libraries that use Evergreen ILS across the state of Indiana. Evergreen Indiana is supported by the Indiana State Library and is funded in part by the Library Services and Technology Act.
Equinox's Aspen Discovery services include implementation, hosting, development, training, and support. Equinox provided project management and configuration of Aspen Discovery integrations for Evergreen Indiana's electronic resources. Equinox also developed Aspen Discovery training resources for Evergreen Indiana libraries.
"This is a project with big impact," said Rogan Hamby, Data and Project Manager at Equinox. "There are few things as significant as a new discovery interface, seen by every patron throughout a consortium." Hamby continued, "I have a long history with the Hoosier state and it is always a pleasure working with Evergreen Indiana libraries. The implementation of Aspen Discovery allows member libraries in Indiana to consolidate management and gives each library a customized, self managed discovery platform that can be tailored for their communities."
