Press Release: TIND [April 26, 2024]

The NAV Library goes live on TIND ILS, TIND IR and TIND DA, migrates from Alma

Oslo, Norway -- April 26, 2024. The Library at the Norwegian Labour and Welfare Administration (NAV) has implemented TIND ILS as its new library system and successfully migrated from ExLibris Alma. The library has also implemented TIND IR to manage a growing collection of born-digital material and TIND DA to manage their digitized collections. "TIND is a significantly less complex system than Alma and is a much better fit for smaller libraries like ours", says Marte Salvesen and Cathrine Fjeldstad, librarians at NAV.

When looking for a solution to manage digital and digitized resources, the combination of TIND IR and TIND DA stood out as the obvious choice. "Our previous system didn't allow for the level of customization we needed to tailor the services to meet our patrons' needs. TIND IR and DA give us the tools to build a service that truly fits our organization," says Marte Salvesen and Cathrine Fjeldstad, librarians at NAV.

When the choice to implement TIND IR and TIND DA was made, it was a no-brainer to also switch from Alma to TIND ILS. The three services combined result in a single platform with greater flexibility and less complexity, allowing for a more efficient use of the limited staff resources. "In TIND ILS, we found a system that was more suited for a smaller library, making it easier for us to navigate in the system on a daily basis, such as controlling access, managing loan rules, and adjusting system configs," says Marte Salvesen and Cathrine Fjeldstad, librarians at NAV.

NAV Library also praises the migration and implementation process as a positive experience, highlighting the ongoing support and communication from TIND. "The transition to TIND has been very smooth and has exceeded our expectations," says Marte Salvesen and Cathrine Fjeldstad, librarians at NAV.
