Equinox welcomes Berks County Public Libraries to Evergreen ILS with the Pennsylvania Integrated Library System

Atlanta, GA -- April 30, 2024. Equinox Open Library Initiative, a trusted leader in open source technology development and support for libraries, is pleased to welcome Berks County Public Libraries to Evergreen ILS with the Pennsylvania Integrated Library System (PaILS).

"We are very excited to join such a well-established and widespread consortium with a prominent presence in Pennsylvania," said Stephanie Williams, System Administrator at Berks County Public Libraries. "We are pleased to join this system and believe the transition to Evergreen is beneficial to our libraries and patrons."

PaILS was founded in June 2011 as a non-profit organization to provide an open source integrated library system for Pennsylvania libraries. It oversees SPARK, the Evergreen ILS managed by PaILS on behalf of its member libraries. Equinox and PaILS have worked together to support SPARK since 2013.

Berks County Public Libraries was established as a federated library system in 1986 and includes 19 libraries with 23 locations in the County of Berks, Pennsylvania. The system supports approximately 115,100 patrons and encompasses 641,952 bibliographic records. Equinox provided implementation, training, and hosting services.

"Berks County Public Libraries serve a large community over several branches and locations," said Rogan Hamby, Data and Project Manager at Equinox. "We are excited to help their services grow as they join the PaILS consortium."
