Press Release: ByWater Solutions [May 9, 2024]

ByWater Solutions contributions to the Koha Community for April 2024 Contributing to the International Hackfest

ByWater Solutions, America's forefront provider of Open Source library technology support, announced the contributions to the Koha Community code from the ByWater Development team. At ByWater, we believe transparency is the key to success. We submit all developments, plugins, tools, and documentation we create back to the Koha Community.

In April, several Koha Developers attended the Koha Hackfest in Marseille, France. Nick Clemens, Head of Koha Development, commented on the collaboration and experience with other Koha Community members.

We explored a broad range of topics, and deciding which ones we would expand on for the rest of the week! Tuesday was the famous 'Cheese day' and was accompanied with a broad evaluation of our current practices and tools and an exciting discussion that led to many new changes being planned (moving from IRC to Mattermost!)

We continued this way for the week, energized by new plans. I always love watching people cluster together over laptops, trading thoughts and ideas, and making changes. The social aspects are always delightful as well, it's a melancholy end of the week as friends begin to head back home, but there's always next year in Marseille!

Below you will find some of the recent enhancements the ByWater Solutions development team worked on for the month of April 2024 with over 30 contributions.
