Press Release: TIND [May 24, 2024]

The World Intellectual Property Organization has selected TIND RDM

Geneva, Switzerland and Oslo, Norway, May 23. The World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) has selected TIND RDM to integrate with its TIND DA and TIND ILS Install. High-quality submission forms, flexible metadata schema, and the ability to create relations between datasets and publications were important factors in the selection. Lise McLeod, Head of the WIPO Knowledge Center, states that adding TIND RDM will allow them to diversify and increase access to their collection, making the datasets more discoverable and accessible to users worldwide.

In its mission to discuss and shape intellectual property policy internationally, WIPO is known for publishing influential, data-backed reports such as the Global Innovation Index, the World Intellectual Property Report, and World Intellectual Property Indicators. As these and other reports have long been curated and made discoverable in WIPO's TIND repository, it is a natural progression to add TIND RDM and similarly curate the related datasets.

WIPO's choice of TIND RDM highlights their dedication to improving the quality and accessibility of their datasets. "Integrating RDM as a new module to our knowledge repository allows us to diversify and increase access to WIPO's collection. The integration of this innovation allows our datasets to be more discoverable and accessible to users worldwide, which helps us encourage their reuse. TIND offers us user-oriented features such as file preview, the relationship between the main publication and its dataset, and organizing content into different collections, including customizing the metadata shown to the user."
