Clemson University Libraries joins the OCLC Research Library Partnership

Clemson Libraries provides research and information resources and services to the students, faculty, staff, and community patrons of Clemson University, a public, land-grant research university located in Upstate South Carolina. With more than 28,700 undergraduate and graduate students and more than 6,280 faculty and staff, Clemson offers degree programs in more than 100 majors.

Clemson Libraries has more than 100 employees at six branch locations on the main campus and at other locations throughout the state. The Libraries have a mission of providing innovative and inclusive collections, programs, services, and technologies that support Clemson University's education, research, and public service goals and the information needs of all.

"We are excited to join the OCLC Research Library Partnership, which will be an incredible resource for us as we continue to grow as an R-1 library and strive to provide the best possible support for the Clemson campus community," said Clemson Libraries Dean Chris Cox. "I look forward to learning from and collaborating with other partner libraries from around the world."

The OCLC Research Library Partnership supports focused programming and research in four areas crucial to research libraries:

  • Research support
  • Unique and distinctive collections
  • Resource sharing
  • Next generation metadata

Across these four areas, the RLP seeks to support libraries through the challenges of a disrupted workplace and to advance equity, diversity, and inclusion efforts. The RLP currently comprises 124 Partner institutions around the world.
