Rhode Island College selects TIND DA and TIND IR

Providence, RI and Oslo, Norway, May 30. Rhode Island College has selected TIND Institutional Repository (TIND IR) and TIND Digital Archive (TIND DA) for an enhanced user experience and increased accessibility of their digital content. Migrating from BePress Digital Commons, the college will unify their digital archive and institutional repository on a single platform, providing streamlined workflows, simplifying metadata management, and improving accessibility and discoverability for their collections.

TIND will provide Rhode Island College a unified platform to preserve and showcase their scholarly output and digital archive, including departmental documents, research papers, videos, images, newspapers, and more. According to Rhode Island College, TIND IR and TIND DA was the ideal choice because it meets their requirements for managing their diverse collections and allows them to customize interfaces and use APIs.

Veronica Denison, Digital Archivist and Special Collections Librarian at Rhode Island College expressed her enthusiasm for the transition, stating, "While looking to change our current system, we wanted something robust and user friendly, with powerful metadata editing tools and the capacity to host both our digital archive and institutional repository. I am excited for the improved discoverability tools that switching to TIND will provide. It will definitely enhance the user experience, increase the accessibility of our digital content, and streamline staff workflows."

"Integrating TIND IR and TIND DA onto a single platform consolidates initial implementation and migration, saving time and costs by eliminating the need for separate systems," explains Alexander Neitzold, TIND CEO. "TIND looks forward to partnering with Rhode Island College to ensure a smooth transition and to support their ongoing efforts in enhancing digital accessibility."
