The University of Georgia selects TIND IR and TIND RDM

Athens, GA and Oslo, Norway -- June 7. The University of Georgia (UGA) has selected TIND IR and TIND RDM as its new institutional and research data repository. Supporting FAIR data-sharing practices and emerging federal funding agency requirements are key reasons for selecting the TIND IR and RDM combo. UGA is transitioning from ExLibris Esploro.

UGA is implementing TIND IR and TIND RDM as an integrated install to provide a unified solution for managing, disseminating, and preserving its research output and datasets. The TIND platform also allows UGA to collect a broad range of data types, as well as providing a robust data curation workflows to review and quality check submitted data.

"It's an exciting time to be at the University of Georgia," said Dr. Beth R. Woods, Director of Research and Computational Data Management at UGA Libraries. "The institution is committed to growing its research enterprise as one of its major strategic plan initiatives, and the UGA Libraries is well-positioned to be a strategic partner in that endeavour. Selecting TIND IR and TIND RDM as our institutional and research data repository was the right choice for our growing and changing research data needs. Features supporting FAIR data-sharing practices and emerging federal funding agency requirements, such as persistent identifiers, were a top priority. We also liked that the platform's flexibility supported our operational needs behind the scenes without compromising the researcher or patron experience."

UGA is migrating more than 50,000 items to TIND IR/RDM and expects significant volume growth as a result of the transition.
