New powerful force in school library automation CASPR Inc. licenses LibraryWorld '97 to Chancery Software Ltd.

San Jose, CA -- March 3, 1997. CASPR Library Systems, Inc. today announced the signing of Chancery Software Ltd. for the license of CASPR's library automation products, including LibraryWorld, LibraryExplorer and LibraryNet. Chancery will market custom versions of CASPR's products to K-12 education under its own brand name, Library Pro. Chancery's current customers with active maintenance agreements will be automatically upgraded to LibraryPro 2.0, adding 2,000 libraries to the existing 3,000 CASPR customers using the CASPR's library automation technology.

According to Norman Kline, President of CASPR Library Systems, "The combination of Chancery's excellent distribution network and CASPR's top rated library automation products provides a new powerful force in the school library automation market. With the best library software for schools, CASPR has been limited by the lack of a distribution network. The partnership with Chancery will correct that. Chancery's reseller network covers North America and many overseas markets. They are geared for school-oriented selling and have special training for library automation systems. We couldn't have wished for a better partner."

Lee Wilson, Chancery's VP Marketing, adds, "Chancery was looking to provide a cutting-edge library system for its customers and CASPR's products are a perfect fit. We are really excited about our ability to deliver a flexible system with powerful features like electronic document management, Internet access, custom collections, and cross-platform." Based in Vancouver, Canada, Chancery is the leading supplier of Macintosh and Windows information systems to K-12 education.

LibraryWorld '97's innovative design provides expert users with quick access to powerful features, yet hides unnecessary details from users with simpler needs. The result is a sophisticated system with all the features required by professional library staff, but can also be quickly learned and easily used by library aides, volunteers and patrons. LibraryWorld's visual interface is appealing to all types of libraries, but is especially effective in schools, businesses and small public or academic libraries.
