June 2, 2026. The University of Tennessee's TRACE Repository Is Now Live. The University of Tennessee has launched its new institutional repository, TRACE, based on the latest DSpace-CRIS version and hosted on AWS by 4Science. Following a public RFP process, the University selected 4Science as its partner to migrate from Digital Commons to a more flexible, open, and future-proof solution.


April 20, 2026. Cornell is live with the new DSpace-CRIS platform. 4Science announced the Go-Live of Cornell University Library's new DSpace-CRIS platform:Cornell eCommons. This milestone marks an important step forward for an institution that has long been a global leader in scientific innovation. For 4Science, it is an honour to support Cornell in a modernization effort that strengthens its mission and contributes to the construction of the international Open Science landscape.


January 28, 2026. DSpace and DSpace-CRIS merger: 4Science leads the evolution of the DSpace Community. After years of collaborative work, open discussion, and in-depth technical analysis, the DSpace Governance, hearing the community, has officially approved the merger between DSpace and DSpace-CRIS. 4Science celebrates this milestone with great enthusiasm. It marks a decisive step toward a more integrated, powerful, and flexible DSpace platform ready to meet the evolving needs of institutions worldwide.


September 24, 2025. Allegheny College migrates from DSpace Express to a hosted DSpace-CRIS solution. Founded in 1815, Allegheny College is a private liberal arts institution in Meadville, Pennsylvania, and ranks among the oldest colleges in the U.S. Allegheny College decided to migrate from DSpace Express to a DSpace-CRIS solution hosted on a state-of-the-art AWS infrastructure provided by 4Science. As a result, this migration and upgrade will benefit the institution, users, and administrators, who will enjoy enhanced and extended functions and data model for their digital repository.


July 28, 2025. MTSU: the first DSpace 9 now live. 4Science announced that the first ever DSpace 9 is now live at Middle Tennessee State University. The team at MTSU always been at the forefront of DSpace innovation. Thanks to the longstanding collaboration between MTSU and 4Science, this repository made history more than once.


July 21, 2025. State Library of Massachusetts now live with DSpace-GLAM. The State Library of Massachusetts chose to migrate from DSpace-Express to DSpace-GLAM (Massachusetts State Library is transitioning from DSpace Express to DSpace-GLAM: A Digital Revolution in Cultural Heritage Management


June 2, 2025. Cornell University upgrades to DSpace-CRIS. Cornell University, one of the most prestigious institutions in the world, has partnered with 4Science for the installation of a tailored DSpace-CRIS system hosted on AWS. Ranked among the top 20 universities globally for 2024/2025, Cornell becomes the eighth institution on this prestigious list to choose 4Science as its preferred partner for repository installation.


May 27, 2025. OpenAlex now available on DSpace. In partnership with the University of Cambridge, 4Science has enhanced interoperability in DSpace for a richer repository and better data quality: OpenAlex now available on DSpace. This initiative with the collaboration of the University of Cambridge and supported by the Vietsch Foundation, aims to enrich open scholarly information and streamline research workflows.


April 30, 2025. 4Science adds two academic clients in the USA. Princeton and Harvard Library have engaged 4Science to develop their new DSpace platform with a hosted solution ISO 27001 certified through our longstanding partner, AWS.


April 14, 2025. Join 4Science for its first free session of the new 4Science Academy!. 4Science is conducting a session titled Interoperability, relationships and digital ecosystems between cultural heritage & scientific research on April 26, 2025 as its first session in the 4Science Academy.
